Thank you for this. It sounds almost exactly like me. It really helps a lot to know I ™m not alone in this. I ™ve never really been on social media, and I don ™t read anything that has to do with spiders, so I never realized that there are so many other people who feel like this. It ™s so hard to explain to people, and most people act like I ™m being dramatic. I ™m 18 now and I ™ve gotten better at hiding my reactions, but that ™s about it.

Checking a room that used to have a spider is something I also do. There ™s a spot where one died on the floor in a doorway, and I never step on that spot for any reason. It ™s been several years.
And tarantulas are definitely not as bad as the armored-looking ones. Everyone I ™ve ever said that to has been surprised by that, so I ™m really grateful that there ™s someone who understands that.

I don ™t know why I ™m scared of spiders. I just always have been, as long as I can remember. It doesn ™t feel like normal fear. It feels like something else has taken control of my body and mind. It feels as if a spider touches me, I will die. No one has ever really understood how bad it is.

This whole thing is a lot longer than I intended it to be. Sorry about that.

Ahh, a spider.

This fear affects my daily life in small ways. For example, I always check my room before sleeping to make sure there are no spiders. If I see an insect, I prefer someone else to remove it rather than doing it myself. Although I try to stay calm, sometimes I cannot help but react strongly.

I believe that understanding these creatures better might help me overcome my fear. Learning about their role in nature and how they contribute to the ecosystem is important. Over time, I hope to manage my fear and react more rationally when I encounter them.
